ESCMID Global 2027, the 37th congress of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (formerly ECCMID), runs from 9 to 13 April 2027 at Stockholmsmässan in Älvsjö, nine minutes by commuter train from central Stockholm. About 18,000 people attended the 2026 edition in Munich.

Where to stay in Stockholm

A few hotels stand right next to the venue in Älvsjö, and one is connected to Stockholmsmässan itself. They suit speakers and anyone with early sessions. Most groups stay in the city centre, where the choice is much wider: commuter trains from Stockholm City reach Älvsjö in 9 minutes and run every 3 to 7 minutes during the day. At rush hour, delegates travel against the commuter flow in both directions.

Planning notes for groups

  • The congress runs from Friday to Tuesday, over a weekend. If your delegates join the Friday workshops, book Thursday 8 April as the arrival night.
  • Rates are in Swedish kronor. Check budgets and per-night limits against your company's policy in SEK.
  • Stockholm taxis set their own prices. ESCMID notes that a ride usually costing SEK 400–500 can cost several times more with some operators, so pre-book group transfers or use the established companies.
  • ESCMID warns about fake websites and unsolicited emails offering congress hotels. Check who you are dealing with before you pay a deposit.
